Tamar Buadze, a trained singer, musician and choir director, became internationally renowned with her TUTARCHELA women’s ensemble. She has been touring Germany and Switzerland with her large children’s and youth choirs for several years. She collects, notates and arranges Georgian songs that have only been passed on through song for centuries. She has been a sought-after seminar leader in Germany and Switzerland for 15 years now.
Singers from Germany, Austria and the USA sing in the Mravalo Network Choir. These singers have been familiar with Tamar Buadze’s musical work for years and greatly appreciate her direct, authentic way of conveying Georgian songs not only in a musical but also a cultural and social context.
Organization Communication
Karina Samuel, long-time singer in various choirs and ensembles with a focus on Southern and Eastern European and especially Georgian music, as well as organizer of workshops with Tamar Buadze, Frank Kane and Mariana Sadovska, initiated the Mravalo Network Choir in March 2020 and has been responsible for the organization, communication and management of the project ever since.
